Meet Dr. Worthen
Dr. Tamara Worthen, a board-certified Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, was born and raised in Ardmore, Oklahoma. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Chemistry at the University of Oklahoma, in 1995 she earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry. She then completed a one-year General Practice Residency at Saint Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City. Dr. Worthen received her specialty training in pediatric dentistry from the Children’s Hospital in Denver, Colorado.
Dr. Worthen has served as President of the Oklahoma Association of Pediatric Dentists. She is member of numerous dental organization including the American Academy of Pediatric Dentists, the Southwest Society of Pediatric Dentists, the Oklahoma Dental Association, and the American Dental Association, as well as an associate member of the American Academy of Pediatricians. Dr. Worthen has held the position of Director of Dental Education for the Children’s Hospital of Denver Pediatric Dental Residency, served as the pediatric dentist for the Children’s Hospital Cleft Lip and Palate Team, and has been published in the Journal of the American Society of Dentistry for Children. She maintains professional connections with pediatricians and family practitioners concerning children’s health issues.
Dr. Worthen and her husband William have two sons and one daughter. She enjoys her family time in the backyard, which usually involves digging in the dirt, scuba diving, deep-sea fishing, gardening, photography, and reading a good book.
